BEHEMOTH Denied Entry Into Canada For SUMMER SLAUGHTER Shows
July 5, 2009Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH have been denied entry into Canada today to meet up with the Edmonton and Calgary stops of the Summer Slaughter tour.
Immigration officers informed BEHEMOTH of a new regulation regarding Polish citizens entering Canada that had changed while the band was en route to the shows. With Canada Day and the Fourth of July, there was no way for them to obtain the last-minute forms they required to enter the country.
Commented the band in a statement: "We couldn't be more devastated. Having to cancel these shows is one of the worst things we have had to do as a band. Canada has always treated BEHEMOTH well and we were still fired up from our show in Montreal and Toronto. We can't wait to get back to these cities as soon as possible, see you all in Spokane when we meet back up with the tour!".
***Please note both Edmonton and Calgary Summer Slaughter shows are still happening with headliners NECROPHAGIST and SUFFOCATION.***
MusikUniverse.net has uploaded video footage of BEHEMOTH's June 29, 2009 headlining performance at Le Medley in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Watch the clip below.
